Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. which is a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation conducted a Road Safety campaign in Indore on December 28, 2014. Bridgestone India has been organising various initiatives to promote the importance of road safety in India. This campaign has been specifically organised for the upcoming holiday season where an increase in road traffic also brings with it associated accidents.
The Indore Traffic Department trained more than 70 representatives from Bridgestone India who were to participate in the Road Safety campaign. They displayed banners, distributed road safety pamphlets and stickers to drivers at five major traffic junctions -- White Church Square, Palasia Square, Indraprasth Tower Square, High Court Junction and Regal Circle. The agenda of this campaign is to educate and raise awareness of traffic rules, road safety and defensive driving to make the roads of Indore a safer place. The representatives from Bridgestone also reminded commuters the importance of utilising seat belts and helmets while driving, to avoid drink driving and to obey traffic rules.
